Work has begun at Sprofera Park on Browns Road & Rt. 347, Nesconset. The Park is undergoing a major renovation, spearheaded by the Smithtown Parks Department. Depending upon the season, either four new irrigated baseball fields or two football fields will be complemented by an expanded parking lot, a roller hockey rink, a new playground, restroom facilities, and plantings. All new seating and other park amenities will complete the renovation project. The park will reopen in 2003.
