The Smithtown Parkinson Therapy Center is a unique organization founded more than thirty years ago to provide help and hope to Parkinson patients and families. It is the only physical therapy center on Long Island that caters exclusively to Parkinson's and its particular problems. Individualized physical activities and therapeutic exercise, designed exclusively to help Parkinsonians and their families cope with the personal effects of their illness.
The Parkinson Therapy Center operates on a non-for-profit basis with only a minimal monthly charge to cover expenses. It is a non-sectarian organization in permanent quarters located at the Smithtown United Methodist Church. Facilities include a group exercise room and a mat room containing up-to-date fitness and rehabilitation equipment.
