The Smithtown Water District serves portions of Smithtown, Kings Park, Commack and Hauppauge. The District is governed by a Board of Water Commissioners which meets at every regularly scheduled Town Board meeting. Water district employees are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Effective January 1,2012, water rates are $1.80 per thousand gallons with a quarterly base fee of $18.25.
Water quality is regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the New York State Health Department and the Suffolk County Department of Health. A Consumer Confidence Report is mailed to our customers each May.
Bills more than 60 days outstanding are subject
to a 10% penalty.
Unpaid balances become tax liens on October
15th of every year.
