| School is Open – Please Drive Carefully |
School is back in session, and the Town of Smithtown urges you to drive carefully. Traffic collisions are a leading cause of death for children under 15 years of age, many of which occur before and after school. Children's involvement in traffic collisions peaks between five and nine years of age. New York law says motorists must stop on both sides of the street--even if there's a divider--for a bus that is flashing its red lights.
