Horizons Counseling and Education Center Family Education Series
OVERVIEW:
The Horizons Counseling and Education Center is accepting reservations for an upcoming Family Education Series. This group will meet for one and a half-hour sessions each week for six weeks. You will find that the series is a little bit like classes that will provide you with opportunities to participate and learn about addiction.
While it has long been established that family and friends can have an influence on the course of someone's addiction, statistics also show that recovery is often strengthened when someone effected with a drug or alcohol problem receives positive support from family, significant others or close friends.
The goal of the series is to help you to discover how you have been affected by the drug and/or alcohol use of someone you care about. It will also provide you with information and resources on the most effective methods to deal with the disease of addiction.
This series is designed in a particular order so that you may explore the various aspects of the Family Disease of Addiction including the role that substance abuse has played in your life. We encourage you to attend all of the sessions in order for you to receive the fullest benefits.
Fee: $60.00 for the entire six week session
For more information and to reserve space, please call (631) 360-7578.
